Tillandsia butzii
One of the most distinctive air plants in cultivation, instantly recognizable by its bulbous base and fascinating dark purple snake skin patterning that decorates its leaves. Native to Mexico and Central America, this unusual epiphyte naturally grows attached to tree branches where it absorbs moisture and nutrients from the surrounding air. Its long, twisting leaves and exotic appearance make it a favorite among air plant enthusiasts and collectors. When mature, it produces a colorful flower spike that emerges from the center of the plant, adding even more interest to this already remarkable species.
