Ceropegia woodii 'String of Arrows'

A distinctive trailing succulent prized for its slender, arrow-shaped leaves decorated with silvery markings. ☀️ Light

Provide bright, indirect light for the fullest growth and strongest leaf markings. Gentle morning or late-afternoon sun is beneficial, but protect the plant from intense midday sunlight, which may scorch the foliage. Low light can produce sparse vines with larger spaces between the leaves.

💧 Water

Allow the soil to dry completely between waterings, then water thoroughly and let all excess water drain away. Its succulent leaves and underground tubers store moisture, making it much more tolerant of dry soil than overwatering. Reduce watering during cooler months when growth slows.

💦 Humidity

Average household humidity is ideal. This plant does not require elevated humidity and should receive good airflow, particularly around the soil and crown.

🌡️ Temperature

Maintain temperatures between 60°F and 85°F. Protect it from frost, cold drafts and prolonged temperatures below 50°F.

🪴 Soil

Use a loose, fast-draining cactus or succulent mix amended with additional perlite, pumice or coarse bark. Always grow it in a container with drainage holes to reduce the risk of root and tuber rot.

🌿 Fertilizer

Feed once a month during spring and summer with a balanced liquid houseplant fertilizer diluted to half strength. Reduce or discontinue fertilizing during fall and winter.

String of Arrows produces long, slender vines that look especially attractive in hanging baskets. The vines may be trimmed to encourage fuller growth. Stem cuttings and the small aerial tubers that occasionally develop along mature vines can be used for propagation.
