Trichodiadema densum 'Miniature Desert Rose'

Native to South Africa’s Cape region, this compact succulent develops woody stems and thick, fleshy roots that give mature plants the appearance of miniature bonsai trees. Its tiny green leaves are tipped with crowns of white bristles, inspiring a genus name that means “hair crown.” Bright pink, daisy shaped flowers open in daylight, adding a striking splash of color above the dense foliage.

☀️ Light
Provide very bright light with several hours of direct sun daily. Introduce stronger sunlight gradually to prevent sunburn.

💧 Watering
Water thoroughly when the soil has dried completely, allowing excess water to drain away. Reduce watering significantly when growth slows, and avoid keeping the thickened roots consistently damp.

🪴 Soil
Use a gritty cactus and succulent mix amended with pumice or perlite. Excellent drainage is essential.

🌱 Fertilizing
Apply a diluted, low nitrogen succulent fertilizer about once a month during active growth. Do not fertilize while dormant.

🔄 Repotting
Repot every 2 to 3 years, preferably as new growth begins. Choose a pot with drainage holes and enough depth to accommodate the thickened roots.
