Spathiphyllum ‘Sensation Variegata’

A spectacular variegated form of the giant Peace Lily. Its large, deeply ribbed leaves display unpredictable streaks and marbling in shades of cream, white, pale green, and deep green, making every leaf unique. This impressive tropical develops into a lush, upright floor plant and can grow several feet tall under favorable conditions. Mature plants may also produce the familiar white flowers associated with Peace Lilies. Its dramatic foliage, substantial size, and easygoing nature make it a beautiful statement plant for indoor spaces.

☀️ Light

Provide bright, indirect light to encourage healthy growth and strong variegation. It can tolerate lower light, but growth may slow and new leaves may develop less variegation. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the pale portions of the leaves.

💧 Water

Water when the top inch of soil begins to dry. Keep the soil consistently moist but never soggy, and do not allow the plant to sit in standing water. Extended periods of dryness can cause dramatic wilting and brown leaf edges.

🪴 Soil

Plant in a rich, moisture-retentive but well-draining potting mix. A blend containing potting soil, coco coir or peat moss, perlite, and fine orchid bark works well.

💦 Humidity

Prefers moderate to high humidity. Humidity above 50% will help maintain healthy foliage and reduce browning along the edges of the variegated sections.

🌡️ Temperature

Maintain temperatures between 65°F and 85°F. Protect the plant from cold drafts, sudden temperature changes, and temperatures below 55°F.

🌱 Fertilizer

Feed monthly during spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength. Reduce feeding during fall and winter. Avoid overfertilizing, which can cause brown leaf tips and damage the lighter variegated tissue.

📏 Growth Habit

Spathiphyllum ‘Sensation Variegata’ has an upright, clumping growth habit with large leaves emerging from the base. Mature specimens can grow several feet tall and wide when provided with sufficient space and favorable conditions.
