Rebutia rauschii

Also known as Sulcorebutia rauschii, this rare miniature cactus is prized for its gorgeous purple/green body, geometric tubercles, and short black spines. It slowly produces offsets that develop into an attractive clustered mound. In spring, mature plants can produce vivid magenta flowers that appear especially large against the compact stems.

Bright light with several hours of gentle direct sun. Protect from intense afternoon sunlight during the hottest summer months.

💧 Water

Water thoroughly only when the soil has dried completely. Reduce watering in fall and keep nearly dry throughout winter. This species is highly susceptible to rot from excess moisture.

🌱 Soil

Use a very fast-draining, mineral-rich cactus mix. Adding pumice, perlite, or coarse gravel will improve drainage.

Prefers warm conditions during active growth and a cool, dry winter rest. Protect from freezing temperatures.
