Native to Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar, this unusual caudiciform develops a swollen, sculptural base topped with slender branches and delicate green foliage. Its leaves fold together at night and reopen during the day, adding movement to its miniature tree appearance. Seasonal leaf loss is normal as the plant enters dormancy.

☀️ Light
Provide bright, indirect light with gentle morning sunlight. Protect from strong afternoon sun, which can scorch the foliage.

💧 Watering
During active growth, water thoroughly when the upper third to half of the soil has dried. Avoid prolonged dryness while the plant is leafy. Reduce watering significantly during dormancy, keeping the soil mostly dry without allowing the caudex to shrivel severely.

🪴 Soil
Use a loose, well draining mix of potting soil, pumice or perlite, and fine orchid bark. The mix should retain some moisture while allowing plenty of air around the roots.

🌱 Fertilizing
Feed monthly during active growth with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength. Stop feeding when the plant becomes dormant.

🔄 Repotting
Repot as new growth begins when the roots fill the container. Choose a pot slightly larger with drainage holes, maintaining the original planting depth. Avoid disturbing the roots during dormancy.
