We're very excited to finally have these available for purchase! Bold, oversized leaves splashed with cream, pale yellow, and shades of green turn this tropical tree into a living work of art. Each new leaf unfurls with a different pattern, making its growth as exciting to watch as the finished foliage. The species comes from the tropical forests of western and central Africa, where its wild relatives can reach towering heights. Those sculptural leaves also inspired its botanical name, “lyrata,” meaning shaped like a lyre (an ancient stringed instrument similar to a fiddle)

☀️ Light
Give it your brightest indirect light. The cream portions have little or no chlorophyll, so the green portions do most of the photosynthesis. Gentle morning sun can help, but introduce it gradually because the pale areas can scorch.

💧 Watering
Allow the top 2 to 3 inches of soil to dry before watering thoroughly. Let excess water drain completely, and never leave the pot sitting in water. Variegated FLF will take longer to dry out because they grow more slowly.

🪴 Soil
Use a rich, airy potting mix with excellent drainage. Indoor potting soil amended with orchid bark and perlite or pumice works well.

🌱 Fertilizing
Feed monthly during active growth with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength. Reduce feeding when growth slows.

🌿 Repotting
Repot when roots crowd the container or emerge from drainage holes, usually every 1 to 2 years. Choose a pot only 1 to 2 inches wider than the current container.
