A fascinating succulent native to the Canary Islands, Arabia, and parts of North Africa. Known for its swollen trunk, smooth gray bark, and sparse fleshy foliage, this species develops an ancient sculptural appearance with age that makes it highly prized among caudiciform and succulent collectors. In habitat, it survives in extremely dry climates and harsh sun, storing moisture within its thickened stems and trunk. Mature specimens can develop incredible bonsai like character over time, making every plant completely unique.
