A truly unusual and highly collectible succulent species native to Abd al Kuri, an island in the Socotra archipelago. Euphorbia abdelkuri develops thick, upright, columnar stems with a distinctive smooth, waxy gray to gray-green surface. Its stark, sculptural appearance makes it an exceptional specimen for collectors of rare Euphorbias and unusual succulents. Slow growing and highly architectural, mature plants can eventually develop into impressive multi-stemmed clumps.

☀️ Light

Provide very bright light to full sun. Indoors, place directly in your brightest sunny window. Acclimate gradually to intense direct sunlight to prevent scorching.

💧 Water

Water thoroughly, then allow the soil to dry completely before watering again. This drought-tolerant species is highly susceptible to rot when kept consistently wet. Reduce watering considerably during cooler winter months.

🌱 Soil

Use an extremely fast-draining cactus and succulent mix. Adding generous amounts of pumice, perlite, lava rock, or other mineral material will improve drainage and help protect the roots from excess moisture.

🌡️ Temperature

Prefers warm temperatures and should be protected from cold and frost. For best results, keep above approximately 50°F.

💦 Humidity

Low to average household humidity is ideal. Good airflow is especially important when growing in humid conditions.

🌿 Fertilizer

Feed sparingly during active growth with a diluted cactus or succulent fertilizer. Fertilizing once every 4 to 6 weeks during the growing season is sufficient. Avoid fertilizing during winter dormancy.

📏 Growth Habit

A slow-growing, leafless succulent shrub that develops thick, upright columns and can eventually branch and form dense, sculptural clumps.
