Pot Size5 inch

Native to the San Martín region of Peru, this rare tropical aroid is admired for its thick, velvety leaves, deep green coloring, and prominent pale veins. It has a compact, upright growth habit that distinguishes it from many sprawling velvet leaf Anthuriums. The name honors the Villena family, who helped introduce the plant into cultivation near Moyobamba, Peru.

🌞 Light

Provide bright indirect light to support healthy growth and prominent leaf veins. Avoid harsh afternoon sun, which can scorch the velvety foliage. Medium light is tolerated, but growth may be slower.

💧 Watering

Allow the top 1 to 2 inches of soil to dry before watering thoroughly. Keep the soil lightly moist but never saturated. Avoid allowing the plant to sit in standing water.

🕳️ Soil

Use a chunky, well draining aroid mix consisting of orchid bark, perlite, coco coir, and quality potting media. Excellent drainage and airflow are important for maintaining healthy roots.

🧪 Fertilizing

Feed monthly during the growing season with a balanced liquid fertilizer at half strength. Reduce fertilizing during cooler months when growth slows.

🪴 Repotting

Repot every 1 to 2 years, or when the roots begin filling the container. Choose a pot only slightly larger than the current container and handle the roots carefully.
