Anthurium forgetii

Velvety green leaves and delicate pale veining give this Colombian native an understated elegance, but its most distinctive feature is the leaf shape. The upper lobes join together, eliminating the familiar notch seen on many other anthuriums and creating a beautifully rounded, teardrop silhouette. Veining can range from subtle to strikingly silvery, giving individual plants their own character. Each new leaf unfurls soft and lighter in color before deepening into its mature green, adding another layer to this collector favorite.

☀️ Light
Provide bright, indirect light. Filtered morning sunlight is suitable, but avoid harsh direct sun, which can scorch the velvety foliage.

💧 Watering
Water thoroughly when the top inch of the mix has dried. Keep the root zone lightly moist without leaving it soggy, and allow excess water to drain completely. Avoid letting the entire pot dry out.

🪴 Soil
Use a chunky, airy mix containing orchid bark, perlite or pumice, and coco coir or quality potting soil. The mix should balance moisture retention with excellent drainage.

🌱 Fertilizing
Feed monthly during active growth with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength. Reduce feeding when growth slows.

🪴 Repotting
Repot when roots crowd the container or the mix begins to break down, generally every 1 to 2 years. Choose a pot only slightly larger and keep the crown above the soil surface.
